Other than Dr. Stiener the staff was great.
Everyone here is extremely professional and nice. I went through the gambit of testing and told I was healthy but haven’t started trying again yet.
After being told by Duke that I had PCOS for many years but not being treated, I switched to UNC who practiced actual medicine and found that my ovaries were full of healthy eggs and I did not have PCOS
Dr. Marc Fritz is the founder of the clinic and he was also my doctor. He is extremely smart, extremely compassionate, empathetic, and kind. He is extremely experienced so he knows the right way to treat a couple with infertility. Almost all of the other doctors are the same way. I have seen all of them for ultrasounds and the only one I didn't like was Dr. Steiner. The other doctor that I think is wonderful is Dr. Stanhiser. She is a fellow at the clinic but they are trying to keep her permanently. The nurses are excellent as well. They will give you their email and will answer what you might consider even the silliest question. If you have the chance to work with either Wendy Snyder or Mindy Soucey you should jump at the chance. Those are 2 of the best nurses at the clinic but I have not had a bad experience with any of the nurses. They are compassionate too and truly show they care for you. Radisha, who is one of the phlebotomists there, is one of the best blood drawers I have ever met. She is quick but also kind. They will work with you till they get you pregnant and will do whatever is necessary to make that happen. We had almost given up the fight to have a biological child when we got pregnant. We will definitely be going back there for our second baby.

When we first found UNC fertility we had no idea what to expect. Not from the overall process, not from a financial point of view, or even what service we needed exactly. From our first conversations about procedures and services with Dr. Young until the moment we graduated and transitioned to the OBGYN, we have felt cared for by this amazing team. Our options were discussed until we understood and were comfortable with everything, our nurse (Mindy) was available day and night to answer questions, the doctors were very warm and professional, the phlebotomist always had time for a personal chat and even the lab technician and embryologist made us feel at ease. They made us feel more like friends or family than patients while taking great care of my wife and our embryos. We felt very welcome and cared for at every visit and interaction we've had with the entire team.

Poor Service, Extreme Negligence, and Third World Care with a First World Veneer. This clinic is a living nightmare. My wife suffered ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome after having her eggs harvested at this clinic, and it was entirely attributable to the clinic's negligence - she NEVER received the medication to halt the stimulation, hence the hyperstimulation, as well as having been stimulated over a week longer than the normal time. (She gained over ten pounds of fluid weight in her stomach as a result of the hyperstimulation, which then had to be drained by the use of a delicate procedure which we were also billed for.) More on this... After a few days of the eggs being harvested my wife began to notice the weight gain and her stomach being so full she could barely eat. We informed the clinic of what was happening and they promptly saw us. Unfortunately, after seeing a Doctor at the clinic she told us that she believed it was simple constipation, and not ovarian hyperstimulation - because hyperstimulation is so rare (but probably not that rare when the medication to halt the stimulation is never received by the patient). My wife proceeded to take numerous laxatives daily for the next week but the weight only grew and grew. Finally it got so bad we took her to the ER, and they performed a CT scan in which all the fluid in her stomach was documented. The Doctors at the hospital then diagnosed the hyperstimulation, and informed the clinic of the diagnosis. The clinic now had its back against the wall, and had to do something about it. The clinic drained the fluid - even though my wife overheard them say that they were utterly unprepared to do the procedure - over the span of a few visits, and they openly admitted it was their negligence that caused this to happen. Having heard them concede fault I assumed I would not get billed for the procedures to correct their error, but I was wrong. But wait, there is much more... Obviously with this level of extreme negligence the Doctors at the ER actually implied when they saw my wife, and had heard what had happened that we should sue the clinic. I contacted several law firms, but unfortunately medical malpractice in North Carolina is ostensibly very difficult, and unless my wife had been seriously injured without chance of recovery there was basically no case. Also, we were told the cost of egg storage initially would be closer to $300 a year, not the $500 we are getting charged. (A further lie we were told was that the first year of the storage would be covered in the $4,000 initial payment we made to have the eggs harvested.) The entire reason why my wife and I had the eggs harvested to begin with is that she has to undergo chemotherapy for a type of brain cancer, and there is the possiblity of the chemo harming her eggs. However after our experiences with this clinic we truly questioned whether we would have been better off not ever having set foot there. Please learn from our experience, and choose your fertility clinic wisely.
This entire office is beyond extraordinary. Extremely helpful and encouraging staff. Excellent care and ability to meet your needs, regardless of your background. Many friends recommend this team and I would also refer anyone.
