I wish I had done my research before going through IVF here. Their frozen cycle success rate is much lower than the national average. I asked them about using 5 day blastocysts and they kept telling me my 3-day old embryos would have a better chance in my uterus. Then I read online that 3-day old embryos are never in the uterus naturally. They are still in the Fallopian tubes at that time!!! They didn't listen to me. I had a failed cycle and they keep sending me bills for services that I thought were included in the up-front costs. Do your research before going here!

We’ve done two egg retrieval’s and two fresh 2 day transfers and are pregnant with our second child currently. Both were successful each time. They used a different protocol the second time and we were able to obtain more eggs. Equaling more embryos.

We have been trying for 2 and a half years and we started seeing Dr.Dodds last January. We went through clomid and other drugs and the next step was IUI. My husband and I decided to take a couple month break from doctors before starting the IUI and in that time we got pregnant and lost our fourth baby. We just had an appointment. And Dr.Dodds didn’t listen to me at all when I tried to explain that my concern was no longer hurrying up to get pregnant but what to do and what to look into on why we’ve lost all four pregnancies. He looked at the computer screen most of the time ignored most of what I said and didn’t acknowledge my questions. Kept trying to force more procedures to conceive on me. And then was so unfamiliar with my case and asked me to remind him how many living children I had and I had to remind him 0 and that’s why the four miscarriages were concerning. I couldn’t have been more disappointed with the way things went. When I really needed a doctor to listen and work with me. The facility and staff are great but I will be looking for a new doctor.

Overall it has been a good experience. Dr. Shavell is nice though we rarely see her. She communicates through nurses which is fine. I have only ever had 1 negative experience (physically very uncomfortable with terrible bedside manner) and when I asked for that nurse to not be put with me again they said that was completely ok. The rest of the nursing and admin staff is fantastic. However we have done 3 cycles of IUI (one was cancelled due to blood work timing) with frozen sperm and had no luck. According to Glow, their success rates with frozen iui is far below the national average but with fresh is far above. I'll probably look into that more now that I know.

I'm on my second pregnancy with the assistance of the fertility clinic. They're extremely thorough with their work. They also know how to comfort you and treat you in the not so pleasant times, and celebrate your success with you when that time comes. I love this clinic. Dr. Young has given me the blessing of being a mother, and the nursing staff is top notch. I love them all. ❤️

Everyone has been extremely friendly in the one year of care I've experienced so far. Between two retrieval cycles, and one canceled frozen transfer cycle, they've always been hyper-aware to make the best possible choices based on what my body is doing at the time. I've had several procedures to troubleshoot certain potential issues with different doctors and nurses, and everyone has been great.

Staff at the Kalamazoo office are amazing! Starting with Amanda at the front desk who will talk you off a ledge when the going gets tough to ultrasound techs Heidi and Laurel who are masters at the art of finding early pregnancies!. Julie S for ivf knows her stuff and will make sure you are fully informed with all those injections. Dr. Young and Dodds are both amazing. I've spent 2 years working with the fertility center with known genetic issues and it has been an amazing journey through the good and the bad and I feel blessed to have worked with this amazing team!

I've been working with The Fertility Center since 2011 and I'm pretty happy with my experience. I travel 150 miles across state and it's worth it. Their prices are the best I've heard of (they publish their prices on their website) and I've had truly unbelievable results. We are three for three with our treatments (IVF/ICSI, and two FETs). Each resulted in a healthy singleton baby. As with any facility, there have been a few people that I wasn't fond of, but overall the physicians and nursing staff are incredibly compassionate, kind people who I loved working with. If you do travel, note that you can do some of the minor stuff like ultrasound monitoring at a local facility. If you're coming from the Macomb County are, I recommend Dr. Carole Kowalczyk's office for that.
