Lets Talk About Sex & Society

My preacher delivered a sermon this morning that practically scarred me for life, while also preparing me for college.

He mentioned how the kids or young adults of this generation are fed subliminal messages that have to do with sex and we wonder why there are kids sexually active at the age of 12 & teen pregnancies. Another point in his speech, he mentioned the music we listen to, majority of it has to do with sex and teens that listen to it don't even think twice about it because it's considered "normal". He read aloud segments of lyrics by Zayn, Beyonce & The Weeknd. And I found myself knowing every word. Guilty, I continued to listen when he said something that caught my attention. "Back in the day" parents always knew what their children were listening to because they would have to constantly tell them to turn the music down and had some control of things on the TV. Now, teens plug in their headphones and listen to this music repeatedly and find themselves wanting to experiment with the opposite sex leading to sexual acts. Now with pornographic movies available at the touch of a button on TV or even the internet, gives teens access to these programs.... He even discussed what is now accepted by society for marriage. Because I was so used to my friends doing things backwards (kid, then marriage) once again I didn't think anything of it. Until he explained it, book chapter and verse to prove his point.
