4 day period!? Weird or no?

Ok so my last 2 periods have lasted 4 days!.I think my periods trying to regulate, but my periods use to be like 6 to 7 days of extremely heavy bleeding I'm talking a pad an hour and not even that I tried so hard to keep it under control I'd change sit down watch the clock and before an hour had even went by I had fill a pad and a tampon! Dear god I don't wish that on my worst enemy. I couldn't leave the house. Anyway. So my Dec my period was 4 days shortest lightest period I've had in years! That was Dec 26-29 this one has also been 4 days an ive hardly bleed. Is this normal does anyone have periods this light? Like the options on here are heavy medium or light periods I can't even put medium I'm so dumbfounded by how light it's been again! I was tempted to ask a doctor. But im thinking let's wait and see what the next period does..
