How accurate are ultrasounds at determining gender?

I had an ultrasound done at 14 weeks and the doctor said girl but that wasn't a 100%, it was a guess. Doctor said it was 80% accurate. Just wondering if any of you had that done and then it ended up being a different gender from what they said.

At 14 weeks I wouldn’t trust it. At 20 weeks I would.

They will very rarely ever say they are 100% sure. It isn't really a "test" of the baby's gender, they are only ever making an educated guess.

14 weeks I was told it's still a nub! private scans don't tell you until 16 weeks at the earliest.

I wouldn’t go telling everyone or buying anything just yet. I’d wait until the 20 week anatomy scan. My doc won’t even tell me til then. So far with both my pregnancies the gender has been right at my 20 week scan.
