Missed miscarriage help?

I am currently going through a missed miscarriage. I went in Tuesday at what should have been 8w2d and they said the embryo was measuring 6.5 with no heartbeat...went Friday to confirm. They gave me an appointment to follow up on the 20th to give my body some time to possibly pass this naturally.

I had already booked tickets tomorrow through Friday to Charlotte to see my parents and announce our pregnancy. Obviously this is not happening, but I was wondering if anyone has been through this before can tell me whether or not it’s a bad idea to travel during this time...

I feel like my husband and I just need a week to heal and process this alone. I was thinking we could go ahead and fly to NC and maybe rent a cabin to spend some time alone? But I’m worried about going through my miscarriage on the plane or in an unfamiliar area without a hospital nearby? Are these things I should even be concerned about? We were even possibly thinking of taking a road trip or flying somewhere else.

Money is no object essentially to book a different trip and I’m not concerned about losing the $$ from the plane tickets...I just want to do what we can to heal right now and get away but also be safe and comfortable if things do happen in the next few days...
