So today my 9 year old mess up at school really badly(writing bad words and nasty thing about his teacher) tomorrow is his birthday, he is grounded anyways until Monday no tablet or tv. Do you guys think until Monday is to much time?

I think your consequences for the actions are fully appropriate. Birthday or not. 
I’ve had to enact consequences for one of my kids on their birthday before. It wasn’t fun for me to do. I hated it. But I can’t let serious offenses go regardless of a birthday or holiday.

He's 9, he knows right from wrong.  He will have to learn his lesson.  He's not even punished for a week,  I'd say he got off pretty easy.

Personally I’d let him enjoy his birthday but not with a tv, or tablet. Spend time with him and take him to do things, all while repeating lessons you’ve taught him so maybe the bad behavior won’t happen again?

I think if he thinks he is old enough to know bad words and say nasty things to anyone then he old enough to take the punishment u have sent in place. I would definitely get him to apologise to the teacher that is the most important thing it learns him to accept and know when he is in the wrong as for the time length of punishment I would have given him a week, my daughter (6) has started lying about her dad (my ex) sayin he has said stuff (his own fault as he told her it's ok to tell white lies), my partner nearly lost it with him only for my daughter to say she lied omg I nearly hit the roof I had it out wih her and she said she lies so she don't get her self in trouble I grounded her for a week off tv,tablet, puddings, sweets,and outside time she has to watch what our son watches and she has to read instead of playing. she won't lie again to me.
