Nurse to sleep vs feeding on demand
Hey momma, question! We’re EBF, but she’s bottle fed so I’m exclusively pumping. She eats great and I feed on demand. To get her to sleep at night and for naps I’ve always “fed her to sleep”. I don’t think that’s the same as feeding on demand. She doesn’t take a paci, which I’m really okay with, so I think being fed at night is like her paci and she sucks on her hands for comfort, which I’m also okay with! My question is, do you nurse to sleep, or quit feeding before the fall asleep? If so, how do you know they’ve had enough if you’re feeding on demand? For our morning nap I’m trying the “put down awake but sleepy”. It takes 45 minutes to get her to sleep for 35 minutes. also trying to get her to nap in her crib, which I don’t think she’s likes. Once I tackle at least 1 hour naps in the crib, we’re going to transition to sleeping in crib at night. (Currently sleeping in a reclining bassinet in our room). It’s getting discouraging. She’s 3 months. What do you do?
