How long did you wait to start dating again after the end of a serious relationship?

I just ended a 3 year relationship. We lived together and I’m in the process of moving out. Honestly, I think I emotionally checked out months ago because we’re just not compatible. Hes an excellent person - just not the person for me. I feel excited to date again, yet I feel grief over losing this person I’ve been with for so long. I just want to feel happy. Just curious how long others have waited - even though I know each circumstance is different. Any words of encouragement appreciated as well. :)

I ended a 5.5 year relationship with someone I was living with, and was building a house with- same sort of situation, I had mentally and emotionally checked out of the relationship ages before it finally ended. 
Fantastic guy, just wasn’t the one for me.
I started going on dates with my coworker best friend pretty much immediately, and within 2 months we were official. 
I would never normally think that was a good idea, but it/he felt so right that I never questioned it once.
8 years later- we have been married for 2 years, and are blissfully happy! 💖 when you know, you know!

My current relationship began less than 12 hours after the end of the relationship before, which was a little over two years long.

I was the same way. The last year (maybe more) of our 4 year relationship, I had already checked out. The day we broke up I moved in with the man responsible for giving me strength to finally leave. We were official within a week. And married just under a year later. Just had our first baby too.
I think it depends on the type of person you are (like... quick to get emotionally attached?) and the type of dating you want to do. (rebound? Casual? Long term?) but of course there's no limit to these things. If you're ready, go for it and don't feel guilty. If you aren't ready, work on yourself. No biggie. 🤷
