Who’s plans should change?

Should the council change their highway plans or should the citizen be forced to move and outlay $30000 + the cost to build a new house? 
I don’t think he should be forced to move but it may come down to the title that he was given at the time of purchase and hopefully if it is in his favour his lawyers may be able to argue on his behalf.

Holy fuck up! Everyone involved, other than the purchasers, needs to be held accountable. The advertisement said the property had a small dwelling on it and septic, where else could they have possibly meant? Wtf.

I mean they should give the man his money back.. they aren't gonna change road courses just because of one man with a temporary home on the land.. but I think that any of the money he sunk into the property should be given back to him.

Isn't that what the whole point of the title checking process when you buy real estate? There's a legal description of the property based on a survey, address and title check to make sure it's unencumbered and rightfully owned, etc. I'm just confused how this happens unless he didn't do the normal title process?

It’s a temporary house, so I imagine it could be moved. I don’t see a problem with the trees being cleared and the house being moved to the correct lot, as long as the cost is all covered by the council/realtor/seller (whoever was responsible for the mixup).

I guess I just don’t understand how this happened? Like, did the guy not get somebody to survey the land? Or get a lawyer to look everything over? What address is in the contract and deed? How was he able to just move into a house he wasn’t actually buying? None of this makes any sense tbh.

What an awful situation. I feel like there are a lot of people to blame- the agent who sold the property, the attorneys involved and the council.
The agent for showing him the wrong property. The attorneys for doing the paperwork on the wrong property and DEFINTELY the council because I have no doubt they've been billing him rates and services at that property for the past six years without wondering why property earmarked for a road is using water and electricity.
