His lying has to stop!

My boyfriend lies about things he thinks *might* make me upset. Like just yesterday he lied and said he went to this one restaurant with his friends, when really he went to one of our other favorite restaurants. I wouldn’t have been upset at all he went there with his friends! Why lie?

He lies about a ton of small things to me. When I confront him about his lies either he changes the subject and tries to make me look bad about something, or he says I’m a drama queen, as if that is his reason for lying to me. He says I overreact to everything but that is not true! I’m sure I have overreacted to at least something in the past who hasn’t? But I don’t overreact to everything and I’m actually one of the calmest/chillest people you will ever meet. I just have discussions when discussions need to be had about his wrong doings. I don’t ever yell during arguments or anything. I’m also a very forgiving, understanding person. And I never try to control him.

I fully believe he’d never cheat on me. But his stupid lies make him look shady for no reason. It’s so stupid. Honesty is so important to me and I’ve told him that so many times but then I’ll find out about another pointless lie.

Otherwise we really do have a good, close relationship and I feel grateful for him other than this issue.

What can I do about this?
