So we spent Thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family and my mom got off for Christmas she never really gets off and rarely sees my son but my boyfriend wants to leave and go to his family's as soon as our son is done opening presents I tried to see if his family can do theirs the day before but he doesn't want to

Seems only fair that Christmas is spent with your mom, since Thanksgiving was spent with his. Alternating holidays is the best compromise

If his family got your undivided attention for thanksgiving, then it’s only fair that your family gets it for Christmas. Then switch next year if that’s what works best.

I’d tell him if he wants to leave right after presents, he can go to his family by himself. He’s being incredibly selfish.
