Dog urine in carpet?

I'll be dog setting for a few days but unfortunately I live in an apartment and the dog is used to a house setting. I want to be extra prepared.
What should I buy just in case? And how to prevent stains?

Definitely take the dog on many walks, just because they are used to having a yard right there to go to the bathroom doesn’t automatically mean that they’ll pee in your apartment. There are a lot of pet carpet cleaning sprays that work well! Walmart or a petsmart will have them.

Is any part of your apartment not carpeted ? Maybe gate them off in that section. Also have a bunch of pee pads on hand. I personally have one of those carpet spot cleaners but I’m sure stains can be scrubbed out manually if you catch them right away.

Vinegar and dish soap mixed in warm water and dabbed with a washcloth will break it down and not leave it smelling like urine. 
There’s also sprays you can buy to spray but the above method is cheaper and things people typically have on hand.
