Should I keep taking birth control or no?

I’m on the pill. And my 5 year relationship ended recently. 😞 
I took the pill to prevent pregnancy because we were sexually active. 
It has helped lighten my period. But I’m trying to decide if I want to continue to take it or get off of it for a while since I’m not having sex.

I would rather stay on it than deal with going on and off it whenever you decide to or not to have sex. I took it from age 16 on regardless of if I was in a relationship or having sex

I would ask why you’re on it otherwise? On Instagram, Dr. Jolene Brighten is a super great resource in finding out if you really need to take it or not, if you’re taking it to “balance your hormones” (which it doesn’t). I’d suggest her book “Beyond the Pill” or looking through her Instagram if you have one.

I will recommend Not staying on it and avoid having sex. You really need to take time heal and learn from you past relationship. Even when you meet the next person, I suggest not sexual active with the person until you’re sure that’s the right person. Especially if you don’t have any child yet and planned to have children later on in life. All these birth controls have lots of side effects. If you stay on them for so long, they could prevent you from conceiving. Just my opinion
