Going thru phones 😣

My bf keeps going thru my phone when I’m sleep or not around .

When we first dated I had trust issues he was doing shady stuff so I’d go they his phone and FOR THE LONGEST he’s always been like I trust you I don’t need to go thru your phone. Over time I stopped going thru his phone around the time we moved in together 7 months ago

In the past 3weeks I’ve caught him going thru my phone twice ! The first time I caught him he lied about it (an app was in my recents that I never go on ) Then I caught him yesterday . We took a nap in his car and when I woke up I seen him hurry up and put my phone down I asked why he had my phone and he said he put it on the charger . I noticed all my messaging apps were open so I’m like I know you were on my phone why are you lying and he tried to keep denying it. After we argued he finally admit that he’s been going thru my phone for the past couple weeks because lately whenever he messes up I’m so ready to leave him and he thinks there’s another man. And I told him I’m so ready to leave because I don’t deal with liars . I don’t stay where I’m not wanted either so the days he makes me feel like that I want to leave him . ...he then tried to put it on me and was like what’s the problem with me going they your phone if you’re not hiding anything ? And I’m like really ? You go they my phone when I’m sleep or clearly unaware of you being on it and for what ? To check for a dude that’s not there ! I told him I had no problem with him going thru my phone cuz I used to go thru his but atleast I asked for his phone or picked it up in front of him .

When we first moved in together I woke up one night and seen him put my phone on the dresser . The next morning I had asked him about it and he said he was checking the time . He grabbed a random phone . I let it go but I think he’s probably been going thru my phone this whole time 🤔 that and around that time he asked me why I always have my phone face down when I go to sleep. I said because of the notifications will make the phone light up and even then he thought he didn’t want me to see the notifications anyways i have nothing to hide I just don’t like he goes through it behind my back but acts like he trusts me ....He claims he’ll ask to see my phone from now on but I doubt it .

What should I do ?

Cuz it’s not like There a way to know if he’s been on it or what time of night he wakes up to be on it.

@sarah - I’d ASK to see his phone . I told him I had trust issues . We talked about the stuff he was doing and when I wanted to see his phone he was ok with it . I’m ok with it if he ASKS . But maybe u missed where I said that

@ change pw comments- we have each other’s passwords . If I change it and he picks it up when I’m sleep he’ll know not to address it he’ll probably wait till morning this know you pick it up in front of me and “try to unlock it” fail then accuse me of hiding something .

@lindsey- right ! Smh . There’s a lot to it but Ive tried to leave . He’s very controlling
