Sitting down or standing up

My 2 year old is still working on potty training. Gets the hang of it,pees every time I put him on it, but still has accidents if I don't take him literally every 10 to 15 minutes.

My dad made a comment while visiting him the other day that I shouldn't be teaching my son to pee sitting in the potty and that u need to teach him to stand and pee right away. I don't see the difference. He still doesn't have the best coordination and who cares if he is peeing sitting down. He says all parents do it his way and that I'm wrong and it's probably why he isn't potty trained yet 🙄

What do you guys do when potty training your boys?
