Are planes social distancing on flights?

I haven’t been on a plane since Covid started. I was curious if airlines are social distances passengers by leaving empty seats. Or is it packed in like usual?

No. The planes I’ve been on have been completely full. Airports are crowded too.

They are keeping spacing from what I hear but your still ina confined space so not sure how effective it is

I’ve been on multiple different delta flights and each & every one is spread out. Some of them, I have an entire row to myself, others I have a seat between myself & the other person.

It depends on flight company. United is cramming people like sardines. Delta is spreading people out.

I haven’t flown, but my family has. My parents recently moved back from living overseas for work. The international flights they were on were spread out and the airports did their best to keep things distanced. People also had to wear a mask at all times unless eating/drinking (these are 7+hr flights so you do need food- though you had to bring your own as there’s no in flight service). My brother flies domestic for work and the flights can be more crowded though some he’s one of the only passengers and the airport was busier. But no more than a grocery store and my brother said people were more ‘behaved’ in the terminal than at the grocery store and respected personal space. People are also required to present a negative test before boarding the plane (has to be from in the last 48hrs) and are tested immediately on landing too. 
Air planes are exceptionally well ventilated so catching the virus is not a crazy high risk. I have a very deadly nut allergy and the only place I don’t have to worry about someone eating nuts near me is on a plane due to the ventilation (though if they’re right next to me it can be an issue). And air lines can’t exactly afford to keep the planes going and keep everyone spread out the way we’d like. It really depends on how busy the route is how crowded your flight is I think.

All my flights have been spread out. And the air filters are HEPA so you get new air every 60 seconds

My husband and SIL have said they sat elbow to elbow on their flights since the pandemic 🤷‍♀️ I’m flying in February and expecting an overbooked flight since that’s what they both experienced
