Back house ... am I on my own?

I just got my own lease for a one bedroom back house

My mother lives in the main house.

Everyone says congrats I’m on my own now but I feel like I’m not lol.

If I need something my mom is literally 4 steps away.

I’m paying A large portion of rent alone as well as bills and I’m excited to decorate in my own style.

So I guess what I’m asking is.... would this be considered to be finally on my own?

Leaving the nest? Since I’m just in the back?
