Tips for first gyno appointment?

I’m 23, never been sexually active, and my PCP recommended going to a gyno to see about options for period control.

Does anyone have advice for finding a gynocologist, tips for the appointment, and what to expect? I’ve been doing some research into the Pap smear process and it’s got me a bit nervous.
