Birth Control and Conservatorship

In new testimony Britney Spears alleges that she is currently being required to have an IUD, despite wanting a baby. Should birth control choices be something that is allowed to be decided by others, and if so at what point?

My question is not really about Britney so much as the overarching ethical issue here, but feel free to share your thoughts on this specific case as well.
