Is my dad right?

My dad caught my bf cursing at me.

My bf took me out on a date. I live with my parents so I had to ask my parents for permission. I wore a black outfit. Dress and heels. At the place, some guy straight checked me out. I pretended like I didn’t notice but my bf did. He was livid and asked me “is that why you wear sexy dresses to get attention? Fuck this let’s go home I’m sick of this.” We left without even checking in to your reservation. I was crying the whole car ride. I really felt like I did something wrong here. Maybe I should respect my partner and not wear these outfits? I saw all the couples wearing nice outfits and the girls were so attractive so why couldn’t I impress my man?

We were in the car just arguing and he takes out his phone and sees I had posted a mirror selfie. He gets more upset. I don’t have strangers on there. Literally family. He told me I don’t respect him but I told him the one that doesn’t respect me is him. I left the car and he comes out yelling “please listen!!!!” My dad was out in the garage doing who knows what and he heard my bf say “look bitch, stop disrespecting me like this. Stop wearing this shit and stop posting stuff. When do you see me post pics of my body??” I cried even more. I told him “stop” when my bf grabbed my arm hard

My dad comes out and politely says “go inside. Have a good night Chris. Please leave right now and don’t put a foot in my house anymore”

My bf began to cry. It was so dramatic. I have a bunch of texts saying he’s sorry and won’t ever do anything bad to me.

My dad literally told me this:

1. Don’t believe him. Men won’t change.

2. It will lead to worse.

3. He controls my outfits and social media but he bets he follows half naked women. Men who try to control their partners are the ones doing the same thing they don’t want their girlfriends doing (example: posting pics bc guys will like them)

4. He’s really not sorry.

Part of me wants to believe my bf. He sounded aweful but I know my dad won’t ever allow me seeing this guy ever again.
