5 year old puts toys between her legs

Trigger warning…..mentioning of sexual abuse.

Has anyone had experience with their child putting toys between their legs? Please forgive me if this sounds weird, but I’m just curious if this is normal or something I need to be concerned about.

First, I should add that my daughter has autism. For the most part, she’s non verbal. Only says a handful of words. She can’t speak in sentences yet, so I can’t ask her why she does it. She will put stuffed toys between her legs and just leave them there. It’s like she’s squeezing them between her thighs. This just started happening within the last few months. It’s only soft toys.

I guess I’m concerned because I was victim of sexual abuse as a child, and with my daughter barley being able to talk, I’m overly cautious of certain things.

She’s my only child, so even though she’s 5, I’m still learning a lot.

Should there be a cause for concern?
