My MIL has been critical of me a lot but I’m trying to get over it. Last weekend she brought a lot of food to us (we didn’t ask for it but it’s appreciated) and I helped her unpack it and put it in the fridge. She told me what everything was and suggested I freeze some stuff so it doesn’t go bad. I said ok and thanked her.

After she left, she texted my husband directly and told him to freeze some of the food so it doesn’t go bad. She does this pretty much every time after she leaves our house for a visit- tells me to do something or does something with me, and then when she leaves she texts or calls my husband to correct whatever we did together (like cleaning or cooking something, she’ll call him and tell him how he can fix it).

If it was once or twice I wouldn’t care. But it’s like every time. I’m not stupid, I know how to keep leftovers and not waste them. I don’t have a history of wasting food. I’m 28! I know how to cook and maintain my house.

Would this bug anyone else?
