Baby shower ideas?

What would be some good gift ideas for a first time mom? She is having a girl and has a name picked out, and has all of the "big stuff" already (car seat, crib, etc,) and didn't make a registry. What do you wish you had had when you had a newborn? I want to get her stuff she can use.

I always make a 'basket' out of one of those baby wash tubs that you put in the sink to give your baby a bath and I fill it with wipes, diapers, washes, little outfits, onesies, bottles, baby wash, pacifiers... Wrap it in plastic and throw a bow on it. It's all stuff the mom to be will love. Have fun with it!

If you're not worried price wise (or if someone else is willing to chip in and split it with you), you should consider giving her a certificate to have photos done :) 
I gave this to my sister, and she loved that she was able to have a photographer document her baby's birth and new born photos :) they came out beautiful!
Definitely a unique gift that I knew would be used and treasured.

Do a baby basket full of essentials for baby but do her a basket too too many people buy just a baby mommy need some loving too so stuff like pads, breast pads , big panties , some bath stuff fancy smelling bath bombs some new pj's for her face masks hair masks all this stuff is cheep and won't cost a fortune but the thought will really count my mother in law did this for me and I really appreciated it x

A basket of toiletries like wipes, nappies, sponges, Flannels, shampoos and body washes, soothers, nappy bags ect these are the little things that are really needed but most forget
