Genital warts question

I recently hooked up with the guy i have been dating for a year and some change now. He gets tested regularly & is clear of all STD's. He is in the medical field so i'm sure he does not want to screw around with his health. Anyways, after we had sex i looked over at his penis and noticed some brown bumps that really looked like genital warts to me. I mean it scared me so much I jumped up & started to question him because i had performed oral sex on him.. i asked him if he was ever checked for HPV because i know men do not get checked for that, as they do not get pap smears like us females do. I went in to explain about what hpv was and he quickly stopped me and said i know what it is i am in the medical field. I said ok , not sure if it was a normal part or his penis or if they were actual genital warts. I am very scared now

Is it possible for me to develope warts in or around my mouth from giving him oral sex? If those were in fact genital warts? Or is that rare? I've read some places it is rare, however i am super nervous. I've made a doctors appointment but won't be seen for a while..

And we used protection when we had sex, the numps were on the shaft of his penis, an inch maybe under the head. So the condom covered that part. & we were clothed when we engaged in the sex so there was abs no skin to skin contact.
