ups and downs of wearing a tampon?

I've never worn one before but I really wanna switch from a pad.. are they uncomfortable? What're the ups and downs of wearing one as opposed to the pad?

for me personally, tampons make me feel a lot less gross while I'm on my period since the blood doesn't actually come out of your body. i think they're 100% more comfortable than pads. the only con is that i'm always paranoid about toxic shock syndrome but i know that's just me being paranoid lol. give them a try!

Just wanna say I used them and could always feel them and they hurt me and sometimes I'd pass out. Turns out my vagina cavaity is turned weird. I can't use tampons so I'm stuck with pads, for about 2 months I was able to use them for some reason and they were a god send. I miss them terribly. Once you go to tampons you'll never want a pad on again.

The best part is it's much much cleaner! Avoid using the cardboard applicators. It might be gross but the best one is to use the o.b ones without an applicator. They are much smaller. Depending on how heavy ur flow is depends on the size tampon u use. I'm paranoid about things in my pussy period I know I'm not supposed to douche every day but I do anyway and I'm fine. I have a douche attachment for my shower it's the best thing ever!! I usually douche b4 bed and wear a thin night pad with granny panties. My cousin wakes up every 3 hours to change her tampon she refuses to wear a pad. It's really up to u. But it's not good to leave the tampons in for longer than 3 hours just to avoid anything funky from something mild like stanky punani to something extreme like tss. If it's your firSt time I suggest trying the playtex teen just to get used to it or the Kotex(black box) they're a little slimmer and easier to get used to

I only started using them a few months ago after using pads for 4 years but I'm really glad I switched. I just feel cleaner and I don't have to worry about ruining my clothes. I usually use regular absorbency because those have less risk of TSS. I would also recommend wearing a liner with them just in case of leaks

If you feel them, that means you aren't wearing them right. They're very convenient, and out of sight, out of mind. Just be sure you change them every 4 hours or so. Changing them every time you use the bathroom is a good idea, because it will prevent you from wearing them too long. It is also advisable to only wear a pad overnight. Not only would you need to worry about TSS (which is extremely rare), but it could cause other infections. The pH of your blood is low, so your vagina may become too acidic, and cause bacterial vaginosis. I recommend them as long as you change them frequently. :)
