I finally left my abusive ex!

After almost a year of his severe emotional and most frequently physical abuse, I decided to leave him on Friday. After he hid my laptop from me, wouldn't give it back, threatened me, and told me I was pathetic and should feel like shit about myself, I couldn't take anymore. I packed up some clothes and my dog (who he's threaten to dump a few times), and drove up to my parents. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. From crying and feeling awful to trying my best to be proud of my choice, I'm completely drained. I can only hope it gets better from here!
