Swaddle or no?

Question

I haven't really been swaddling my daughter. I would just wrap her legs and let her arms be free because I noticed she likes them over her head when she sleeps. For the past two weeks she has been a little terror during the day. Screaming fits, unconsolable, gas issues, won't nap. She's only six weeks. Is it too late to swaddle her? Did I cause psychological issues by not swaddling her correctly? Does she feel like I'm not there for her? Sorry for going on. I'm a first time mom and a little overwhelmed.

Ours hated swaddling from the beginning so we always just did a blanket wrap. She could be growing or having a reaction to something jn the milk

You could also try sleep sacks to keep her arms free.

you definitely didn't mess up. It sounds like it may be colic which is just a general term for anything that makes a baby absolutely miserable (I really mean makes you miserable because the baby screams all day and is up all night. my son had colic) until about three months old at which point it will stop like it was never there.

I don't think you scarred her. You could try full swaddling and see if she does ok, but some babies don't like it. My daughter, the second you swaddled her, she would happily lay there till she fell asleep. My son tho, hated it. He never was ok with having a swaddle so I ended up giving up even trying.  Like the other commenter said, it could be a growth spurt or she could be having tummy issues if she's getting really fussy.

No you didn't psychology scar her my son didn't like having his arms wrapped up since day one and he's fine. Maybe it's just a growth spurt but if she has gas it could be bothering her causing her to be fussy and not sleep. I would bring it up with your dr
