Child care

My son turns one this week and his babysitter just quit. He is currently watched in our home and we are now trying to decide if we should continue that or transition to daycare for some socialization. Has anyone been through this and have experience with when the “best” or easiest time to transition for a child is? We always planned to do daycare at some point but can’t decide when it’ll be easiest for him to adjust. TIA!
