Weird first appointment

So I’m a FTM & 8w1d and today was my first ob appointment. At my doctors office the first appt is always with a midwife. Honestly it felt pointless. I️ waited for an hour because she was behind, then she lectured me for about 45 mins about nutrition when I’ve been TTC for quite some time and well versed on all that stuff. Then she did an internal exam and said everything “felt normal”. I didn’t get to hear a heartbeat or see an ultrasound. My next appointment is scheduled for a month from now when I’m 12 weeks! I asked her how I️ knew everything was ok and she just said to “trust my body”. I’m so nervous for MORE waiting!!!!!

Has anyone else had this experience? I keep seeing people posting about 6, 7, and 8 week ultrasounds!! Why didn’t I️ get one?! Am I️ doing something wrong?! Do I️ need a new doctor?!
