Books for first time dads??

Most of the books I’m seeing on Amazon look TERRIBLE. “Bro, you’re having a baby!” etc. Are there any normal, straightforward dad books out there without all the macho rhetoric?? I’m looking for something that also talks about the stages of pregnancy, childbirth and partner support.

My husband is an engineer, and very much a facts over feelings kind of person. I bought him the book Brain Rules for Baby, which was written by a scientist. So far my husband loves it, as he has been very nervous about being a good dad and this has made him feel a lot more prepared. It doesn’t just tell you what to do, it tells you WHY based on substantiated scientific research. I recommend it!

My husband reading his book is funny (he travels for work so we communicate a lot via email) and I’ll get things like “do you know you have to give birth to a placenta too?” Or my recent favorite “have you done your Kegals?” Because he had no idea what they are, just that I should be doing them.

Dude you’re going to be a dad is a funny and great book. It walks him thru your emotional, physical and hormonal changes and how to support you. It also tells you how to care for a new baby. It’s so much more fun to read
