#MeToo movement going too far?

So my coworker and I had a conversation today about Christ Hardwick, a TV host/comedian recently accused of sexual assault from his ex-girlfriend. My coworker and I are both fans of Hardwick, and have been sad to see literally everything he’s involved with get canceled or being removed.

He has denied the accusations, and my coworker mentioned that he should be innocent until proven guilty. She also said that she’s concerned that the #MeToo movement is going to encourage men’s reputations and careers to get ruined with no “proof.”

I however think that the movement is encouraging women to stand up to their abusers. She argued back that we need to find “a line” and not ruin people’s lives for the headlines.

What do you guys think? Should male celebrities not have their projects cancelled until proven guilty?
