I feel bad 😔

Sorry for the long post but this group is a active group and I would like advice.

For Christmas, I gifted two different secrets santas presents the same things, which were from The Arts of Shaving, I bought them each a start kit which is $30 and a pre shave gel $25, one of them was a min. of $20 and the other was min. $50.

Today my boyfriend’s sister told me about what his family have been saying regarding the gift I ended up giving to my boyfriend’s uncle which was for the min of $50. What they were talking about is how I did not meet that requirements of the $50 which I do and that did bother me, my boyfriend’s knew I spent more then $50 and my boyfriend’s sister had my back on saying how they should talk to me about it directly, apparently with Christmas coming so close the prices lowed and my boyfriend’s aunt looked up the price of the items I had bought, and that’s where they saw, the items I bought were selling lower then what I originally bought them for, and I didn’t know this. So his family were pretty much talking about me behind my back and I think that’s disrespectful. I felt hurt, and in a way like I’m getting attacked. So I’m thinking about just going out to get a gift card and asking for the items back so I can go return it myself since my boyfriend’s uncle did not like my gift.

And with the other secret Santa, it was a min of $20, I passed over the min for this too, I unfortunately was not able to go and see the guy open his gift so I wasn’t sure how he reacted. I asked him today in person if he liked his present I got him. And I told him I wanted him to be honest with me. He said “I can’t complain” I said ok but the tone he used made me feel like he as well did not like it too, so I’m thinking about getting him something else something small, because I as well feel bad about it. I thought it was a thoughtful gift for both of them and the products are expensive so I thought it was going to be great for men. Last year I bought my dad the same ones and he loved it.

I want to get advice on what you ladies think. And I’m a little confused what he meant by “I can’t complain”
