Advice about dating coworkers

So I found out this guy I like at work likes me to. Since I found out I've been wanting to ask him out my only concern is what if we go out, date for a little and things go wrong and we break up. Is it gonna cause drama at work, because we constantly have to work together due to our positions at work, plus we're good friends nd if things go wrong I dont want to lose my one good friend at work.

Does anyone have any experience with this or any advice that could help?
