Am I crazy for wanting to get engaged?

Question

My fiancé and I just got engaged after I was hospitalized and I thought I was about to die. We had a child together which I unfortunately miscarried and he has been the first man who has not abused me, but we have only been together 5 months. Is it too soon? We both feel the love and our parents approve. I own a small business and he has a stable income, and we are both over 21. Is it time?

i mean normally i’d say when you know you know, but to me this sounds like the psychological phenomenon in where people who survive a near death experience get married immediately after. 65% of those marriages end

At 5 months, I'd say it's too soon. It takes a while to get to know each other enough to where you can see how compatible you are, if your views line up, each angle of each other's personality, how you're capable of growing together, how you live together, how your day to day life functions when combined, if there's something with them that you can't live with, ect. 
You've been through a traumatic experience with him, but that doesn't automatically mean you know each other on the level I'd recommend before marriage. As traumatic as the experience was, it still only shows a one side of you. It doesn't show you how well your guys lives will mix together, how you guys grow together/apart, it doesn't mean you've had time to see all the negatives of each other, ect
Basically, a few months isn't a long enough timeline to learn/see enough about a person to get married to them. I'm sure there are an exception to that rule, but since your posts suggests you've been in abusive relationships before, I'd suggest you take this one extra slow and cautiously, more so than the average person. 1 event doesn't mean you know each other well enough, people and relationships are so complex that you have to give yourselves time to see all the different layers and angles of them

Sounds fine to me. I met my hubby at work and instantly knew he was for me. We're already married and expecting iur baby to arrive any day. Only known each other for less than 3 years.

I was engaged at 6 months at 19 years old and married at 1 year 1 week of dating still 19 years old  but I had known my husband since we were 12 years old. Weve been together 8 years now

My husband and I got engaged 1 year in to our relationship when I was 18, but he gave me a promise ring 6 months in.
