Will I be safe to remove cartridge piercings if needed?

So I got this piercing on Sept. 15, it hurts when theres pressure still, but I've kept up with cleaning it 2-3 times a day, moving them to make sure they're clean all the way through, and havent noticed any bumps, redness, or pain outside of pressure. My question is, when will I be able to take them out? Im going to the neurologist next Friday and theres a chance theyll need me to take them out for a short time to run tests. Should I be able to do that or do you think it'll add infection risk?

I think you’d be okay infection wise, I’d just be worried about them closing. I’d try and get plastic studs to put in

With the bottom one being so swollen and puffed up like that I would go to tour piercer just to be sure and on the safe side. With them being so new, if you take them out it will be super painful to put jewelry back in and could cause an infection itself. Talk to your piercer about having them change the jewelry to a retainer instead of just taking them out and trying to force it back through later. Your helix takes about a year to fully heal because its cartilage, so personally I wouldn’t try to put something back in after taking it out. That could cause more issues than its worth, and also if there is possibly an infection it could cause a lot of issues to have the holes closed up and the infection stuck in your ear. My cartilage piercings took forever to heal fully. I've never had to take out my earrings at the neurologist,  but if you have to I don't think they would close up quickly, youd probably be safe, just make sure everything is clean when you have to put it back in!
