I am wrong?

My so’s dad has a history with alcohol abuse and being abusive to my so’s mom and even him as a child. He has been nothing but disrespectful to me and wishy washy in my so’s life. Am I wrong for not wanting him in our child’s life?

Answer

So my husbands family is similar... and has a couple more issues. we do not plan on keeping our children away from certain individuals. BUT! We are only allowing our children alone around certain ones. If that makes sense. 
There’s just certain people we are ever going to allow alone with our kids
