Unanswered questions about vagina

A few days ago I made a post saying I use dr.bonners baby unscented soap on my private area and it burns so I wanted to switch back to dove . All of the people who commented said I shouldn’t be using any soap down there and all this time I thought your able to use soap down there as long as it’s unscented . (Sorry if I seem uneducated,my mom never taught me this stuff . Had to find out about stuff on my own) so am I able to use unscented or not ? And can unscented soap mess up my ph. I still have a smell down there. I’ve used boric acid for yeast infection , changed from mild soap to unscented . Took pills for a BV , I don’t have any std’s so I have no clue wtf it can me from so can it be from using unscented soap down there? I have a gynecologist appointment in a week.
