What do you do when your 17 year old asks to go to a senior party that will have alcohol

My son asked me if he could go to a senior sendoff party this upcoming weekend. I asked him where it's at and he said it's an outside party. I asked if there will be chaperones and he said not really but the mom who lives there will be present. Then I asked will drugs be present and he said not that I'm aware of but there will most likely be beer and alcohol. So after he told me that I said no. I probably would have said no regardless because parties are just bad news waiting to happen. My son said okay yes ma'am thanks for talking with me but when he walked off I heard him mutter should've snuck out or something like that under his breath so I told my son I'll make him come to work with me and he can just sit in my office & he bring his gaming console with him. I told him that he doesn't need a party to have fun and we can have fun together. I said we can watch a movie together, play board games, and I'll order pizza and if you want you can bring a friend or two over to join us. I asked how that sounds and he said "Yeah, sure." So I guess that maybe settles this because now he has new plans
