I can not believe my in-laws...
Yesterday, we got a call from my in-laws telling my boyfriend & I to meet them at their house around noon.
We scramble to get ready as we had been relaxing all morning in our PJs.
We meet them at their house and they say they have a surprise for us. We wait for them to finish getting ready and we hop in the car.
We drive for about 15 minutes and we pull into a car dealership. (Mind you, my bf had been driving a car from 1997 that he refused to let go of because there was nothing completely wrong with it, but the bottom was beginning to rot pretty badly. He soon planned to get another car, but was borrowing one of his parents that they didnβt frequently drive in the mean time.)
We go into the dealership and right away they pull a car around and have us start looking at it. We both loved it because of all the room and how nicely-kept it was and the low mileage. In our minds, we are like, βokay, we suppose they brought us here in order to buy a new car so we can give theirs back.β (Side note: I have my own vehicle, but with both of us working in different cities itβs not ideal for us to share a car.)
We go back inside and immediately my boyfriend is signing paperwork. We were both a little confused because we are like?? Uh?? Did we say we wanted this car for sure? He only signed a few papers and the salesman was handing him the keys.
His parents had bought him a car off the lot with their own money.
His mom looked us both in the eyes and said, βThe only payment I need, is for you to fill this thing up with grand babies!β
(Certainly we are paying them back but WHAT)
Everyone on here always has the most horrific stories about their in-laws so I really needed to share mine. I love my in-laws and Iβm so appreciative of them... little do they know we have been trying HARD to give them a grand baby. π€
(disregard one of the 3rd row seats laid down that we forgot to put back up)
EDIT: Just to clear some things up. ABSOLUTELY I call my boyfriends parents my in-laws. We have each and every intention on getting married as we have been together for almost 5 years. We have talked about it more than enough. We are completely committed to one another and have been through hell and back just in these short 5 years together. His parents call me their daughter. They quite literally introduce themselves to people as my parents/in-laws. FOR EXAMPLE: the last time I needed something done with my car, my father-in-law went with me and he told the guy, βmy daughter-in-law here is having trouble with so and soβ. But anyways, for those βtruly confusedβ, yepp, thereβs people in the world that call their future in-laws, THEIR IN-LAWS even before marriage. Now negative nancys, be GONE, and let this be a positive post as it was meant to be. π
EDIT 2: Please note it costs you zero dollars and zero cents to keep scrolling past my post without posting a negative comment. My BOYFRIEND and I will get married when we damn-well please, and we will have children WHEN WE DAMN-WELL PLEASE. ππ½ It is 2020 hunnnnny, and there are no laws saying we must be married before conceiving a child. So, mind. ya. business. ππ½
