After birth and birth control?

So this would be my first time getting on birth control AFTER giving birth, I plan to do the pill, something less extreme. 
Would you wait till your first postpartum period or would you just start taking it off the back?
I at least want my body to have time to regenerate and level out the hormones first before messing them up more with birth control.

I personally waited until my first pp period (which was 7-8 weeks after I gave birth). If u start birth control the first day of ur period (or at leatwithin the first 5 days of it) then the birth control is effective immediately. If u start it any other time, then it takes a full 7 days to be effective.

I'm starting right away because we are pretty confident we only want the one baby and I want to be protected by the time we are able to have sex again. We haven't done it since the first trimester, so I'm sure we will be eager!

I don’t need birth control, but if I did I would 100% get it before the first post party period. You can definitely get pregnant before you get that first period.

Are you planning on breastfeeding? Because if you are you might not get a period until after you stop.

I plan to do this as well and I will be starting it after my PP period and will just use condoms until then :) just would like to see my body get back to itself beforehand

I would wait. You can't have sex anyway so give your body a full break for recovery.
