He’s friends with a 16 year old

My boyfriend games a few times and is friends with different people on there. But there’s this girl who is 16 that he’s friends with and games with sometimes. (They’ve never met)

Mind you, he’s 28! They’ve even exchanged numbers. They only text about gaming and that’s it though. So nothing sexual or concerning about that. It just makes me feel weird knowing he texts this girl when she’s not even close to legal. Am I being stupid?? His reasoning is “well she seemed like she doesn’t have much friends.”

Well she should maybe find friends her own age! Last night she was texting him about a game and stuff and I got upset because he was on a date with me and then later was texting him when we were watching tv at home. He was texting back as well.

So I finally made it clear I didn’t like it and thought that it was a bit inappropriate. He then told her he was hanging with me and to have a good night. I felt better after that but I just wanted to know if I’m in the wrong for feeling like that and maybe for some advice too.
