Drunks at Christmas

Anonymous incase family is on here.

An extended family member got hammered on Christmas eve. Few family members drink socially. I can't as I am pregnant. No biggie.

I was feeding my toddler on my lap and a drunk family member came over and tried to wrestle him from my arms. He was so intoxicated and he wanted to play with my son. I wasn't letting him go. The whole altercation was super akward.

30 minutes later this man was holding his puppy and dropped her. She yelp. He said she was fine and the pup was crying.

I am so hormonal I started crying.

I am so glad I didn't let him hold my son. Everyone got so upset after this everyone left their home.

Just I am so glad I trusted my gut and didn't let him grab my kid.

Update:Saw the rest of the family today and the couple that got too intoxicated didn't come. Was told that I did what was right. The puppy is ok now and was checked out. That my BIL saw the altercation and if I had let the guy hold my son he was getting ready to step in as he didn't think it was safe. Someone else told me he had already been aggressively grabbing my son's face and I hadn't seen earlier. That I had every right to be mad and that won't be tolerated again. My BIL is going to speak to the couple as he is super upset with how the evening went how it wasn't safe for our kids and how his grandkids are in danger with their actions. More happened after I left and it wasn't good. Safe to say we won't be going back there again for any holiday.
