When someone laughs at you to mock your appearance, it is meant to put you down or insult you. So no, it’s not normal and it’s not OK. ￼￼If she has an opinion about your appearance, she should be an adult and use her words in a respectful manner. ￼

Ok let me be the odd one out here and say yes sometimes. Don't worry you will get your own turn if you have children. 
My father was a youngster in the 60's and got himself some plateau shoes my grandfather then asked him if he didn't had money for good shoes, funny enough he calls my daughter's doc Martin's military shoes and tried to buy her new shoes, but she didn't want it. While my husband grew up in the 80's and his father asked him if he couldn't get enough material for full length trousers high water trousers were in then. His mum found his Mc Hammer style trouser hilarious, he was always very up to date when it came to fashion, it makes some good pictures. So you see your mum may not understand your style but it's just not that important. Just be yourself you have enough time to fit in when you get older. Sometimes we need to be extreme to find ourselves.

To laugh at you and mock you nope! To question it I think it’s normal. My mom would tell me if I would look better with different colored shoes or if the shirt looked better tucked in. Things like that. But if she’s making you feel bad then that’s not normal!

My mom always did and still does and I'm almost 30 but she's a narcissist. I think most parents wouldn't do this.
