Kids activities after divorce

I’m just needing some insight on how you work your activities for kids after divorce. I told my ex I wanted to sign our daughter up for riding lessons and he told me she can only do them if I give him more time on sundays when I pick her up. His reason for this is because lessons are on fridays at the same time he picks up but only last 40 minutes. Mind you he is late nearly every week by at least 40 minute. I basically need advice on how you other moms balance your kids activities with your custody.

Side note: I have full physical and legal custody with him only getting weekend and no day in her physical or legal wellbeing.
