50 shades isn’t kink, it’s abuse. Kink is consensual, 50 shades is not. I haven’t fully watched the movies, but I read all the books and they are all awful. Maybe the movies portray things in a more consensual way?

So we are heavily involved in the BDSM community. Finally gave the books a go. I stg the author has zero idea what the actual fuck BDSM is and wrote that shit for women who are like "oh my gosh, so naughty!" Not an accurate representation of the community at all. Like zero percent. Very very poorly written. Very poorly researched. People who know nothing about it have no business writing books about it. Fictional or not. Extremely damaging to the community and extremely misleading for anyone who thinks it's even close to real life. Literally a million things wrong with it. Which is a damn shame. BDSM is such a complex and interesting thing with tons of avenues that could be explored. If only done properly.
