I received a 0-3mths onesies set, & they look so small. My midwife definitely said my lil one isn’t going to be small, so I’m thinking 8lbs is going to be her weight.

So my son was 8lbs 4oz a birth and by 3 days was down to 8lbs 1oz before gaining weight. He never fit new born but did fit 0-3 months. My second son was 7lbs 12 oz and never lost any weight. He did however fit newborn for about 1 week then gained/grew quickly.

My boy was 9lbs 10.5oz, 22.5in. He fit into most newborn clothes and all 0-3 month clothes. 
I had mostly target brand/carter brand baby clothes for reference. More boutique style stuff could run smaller I guess.

For 1-2 weeks but mostly 3 month clothes. I didn’t bother purchasing anything in newborn size but did have 2-3 outfits given to me.

Baby 2 was 8 lbs 7 oz and fit in newborn at birth. Moved to 0-3 month at about 3 or 4 weeks old. They can be very off on size though...like 1-2 lbs. My 1st baby I was told was gonna be almost 9 lbs and was born 6 lbs 5 oz. Baby 2 was predicted to be about the size of their sibling at 6-7 lbs and was born 8lbs 7 oz. Have some of each size around then buy more if needed.
