Someone help me keep my bathroom clean?

I don’t know why I have such a hard time keeping my bathroom clean. How often do you clean your bathroom I mean wiping down the counter, scrubbing the toilet and the shower? My shower has gotten pretty filthy and last night a cockroach came out of the drain. It’s mostly soap scum everywhere but I feel like when I clean it, it’s dirty again in a  week. I never learned this stuff from my parents and neither did my husband. My husband is not bothered by it and is fine with having a poop stained toilet but it bothers me. It’s like I can’t keep on top of it though. Every time I clean it, it’s dirty again in a day with my husband using it, and our two sons using it. It never smells good either. It’s embarrassing. My kids are only 5 and 3 so they can’t really clean it and my husband is always at work and just has no concern.

Toilet weekly or sooner if someone pees/ poops on it, bath- weekly/ every other week, i scrubb it with a scrub brush, lysol/ scrubbing bubbles, i also use a toothbrush on the corners/ edges, i also use powdered bleach or baking soda if its ectra stuxk on, counters get wiped down almost daily, kids get toothpaste stuck to it, and its just easier to wipe it off daily after teeth brushing than wait a few days, floors seems like daily because the damn boy cant aim and pees everywhere

I do my toilets the most often, probably ly 3X/week or so. Good scrub for the bathtub about once a week, the sink/counter a couple times a week unless they get gross

I do pretty much everything daily except the shower and tub. That gets done once a week. But floors, counters, toilet, all that stuff I take 5-10 min and do daily so it is always clean and never gets out of hand. Trash gets taken out whenever it is needed. Husband and 3.5 yr old help pick up though also so we make sure keeping the house clean is a team effort.

Counters, floor, toilet I clean daily and I scrub the shower and shower doors weekly. I do a deep clean at least once a month but usually 2 and do baseboards, vents, window sills, shelves, cleaning walls and doors. And once a month I make sure cabinets aren't getting cluttered with stuff we don't use or have gotten messy. But since I do it all the time it doesn't take much time.

General pick up and like wiping down counters, trash, sweeping (we live on a ranch and track so much stuff in) daily. 
Toilet every 2-3 days. 
Deeper cleaning, meaning scrubbing the tub, scrubbing the sink, dusting, mopping... Weekly.

Clorox wipes are great for quick wipe downs. These toilet wands are amazing too. I do a deep clean of the bathrooms every other week but will wipe down as needed in between. I use soft scrub with oxy clean to scrub my tubs. I use Clorox bathroom cleaning (without bleach) to disinfect. You have to spray it and let it sit for 10 mins. So I always spray everything down and then clean the tub while it sits and disinfects. Honestly it’s just making a schedule and sticking to it. It’s easier to keep it clean that way rather than letting it build up.

I try to just do small things constantly instead of doing it all at once. When I go to use the bathroom I'll wipe down the counter or mirrors. Giving my kid a bath? I'll take out the trash. When my kid gets out and it looks like it's getting dirty, I'll spray it down and give it a little scrub with a brush I keep nearby. When I notice the toilet gets dirty inside I'll clean it and use a work towel that I keep under the sink to wipe down the seat and the outside. It keeps it from being overwhelming and I find it's easier to spend the couple of minutes multitasking or at the end of another task than a half hour just cleaning the bathroom.
