Does anyone have any experience proposing to their boyfriend? We’ve discussed marriage and it’s definitely something that’s going to happen, we’ve even discussed rough ideas for a wedding and I’d love to propose to him. Any tips on how to go about it?

To all the women trying to make this a huge deal...she knows her boyfriend better than you all. If she has this thought she must know he'd be fine with it. My sister proposed to her now husband (married 11 yrs now) because he had anxiety and even though they were madly in love she knew he would get an axiety attack on the nonexistent chance she'd say no. She did something special and asked him. He texted our family and told.us and when they saw us in person he gushed about how amazing it was and how lucky he is to have found her and that she knows him to a T. Just because your experience is men that feel that way doesnt mean all men are. To your question....if you do it just think on something he'd like and ask him. My bil loves breweries and brews his own beer. My sister took him to a specialty brewery for a tour and tasting. Then after a hike and nice dinner at a winery on the way home they did a jigsaw puzzle that night (they are both huge into puzzles) that she had custom made. It was a photo of a cabin in the woods because they talked about building one for years and a little sign next to the cabin that said "(his name) will you marry me?". She didn't do a ring obviously but he loved it. He then went and picked her engagement ring and surprised  her because he wanted to make her feel special too. Wasn't huge or public but she knew it fit them and he loved it. If you think your bf would want it or enjoy it go for it. Just find something that fits you guys.

My man told me that he would say no if I proposed lol. That it is an experience as a man he had been looking forward to since young, (picking a ring for me, planning a place, asking my dad, he wanted to make it special) I’m not going to take that from him because I’m impatient. We are engaged now and it was beautiful

There's nothing wrong with proposing as a women in a hetero relationship. My husband asked me to marry him several times because he knew I was the one when we met, but it was too early for me, and I would tell him that. Eventually I was ready too and asked him and we got married on our one year anniversary of beginning dating. It was very romantic, and it didn’t bother him at all. He waited for me, and I caught up. We've been married for just over five years now, and I still can't imagine being with anyone else. Just because other people wouldn't do it, doesn’t mean it's not right for you and your partner. Follow your heart.

Many women propose because they're tired of waiting. That's a shitty reason to propose. Propose because it's what you want and because you want to get married and love him. If you are doing it for the right reasons, go for it!
I would talk to him about his feelings about proposing though. Some men take it as a personal attack or feel like you're desperate. Make sure you're on the same page!

Girl go for it! My ex and I both proposed to each other and it was super cute. When I did it we were alone and I secretly recorded it. I wanted to be able to give him a ring as well.
