Is it bad that I still talk to my ex family?

My ex and I haven’t been together in 5 years and me and his family still talk and his mom invites me over her house. My ex lives in another state.

It’s not bad if you have a good relationship with them.  But if keeping in contact with them is preventing you from moving forward with your life or being in other relationships then I wouldn’t talk to them anymore.

No. You can continue relationships with them because you had your own relationship with them. I talked to my ex’s mom for a long time after. Life kinda happened so we stopped but I still love that woman and his sisters so much. But now I feel like too much time has passed and it’d be weird. But if I ever saw them out. I would absolutely give them a hug and see how things are.

My brothers ex still keeps in contact with my younger sister, they are a similar age and while they were a couple my sister travelled overseas with her and had a friendship. I removed her from socials etc a few weeks after they broke up just out of loyalty for my brother, I didn’t feel right about staying in contact. I guess it just depends if you are remaining in contact as a hope to keep invested in their lives and keep an getting updates from family on how he’s going because you want to rekindle the relationship or are you moving on with life and at peace with the break-up and just have a genuine friendship with his family members?
